30+ Years of De-Addiction Awareness and Social Service by Dr. Balasaheb Kumawat

For over three decades, Dr. Balasaheb Kumawat has dedicated his life to creating awareness about addiction and supporting individuals and families on the path to recovery. His journey is one of compassion, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to social service.

Founding of Jeevan Jyoti De-Addiction Centre (1999)

In 1999, inspired by firsthand observations of the devastating effects of addiction on individuals and communities, Dr. Kumawat established the Jeevan Jyoti De-Addiction Treatment and Guidance Centre in Nashik, Maharashtra. The centre was founded with a single mission: to help every individual struggling with addiction find their path to a healthier, more fulfilling life.

Key Milestones and Achievements

  • Received the Mahatma Gandhi State Level De-Addiction Service Award from the Maharashtra Government (2012).
  • Honoured with the National De-Addiction Award at Andhra Bhavan, New Delhi, in the presence of Hon. Ramdas Athawale (2019).
  • Recipient of the Arogya Sadhana Award, presented by Hon. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis (2019).
  • Developed Wesnil Plus, a patented herbal anti-addictive formulation (Patent No. 569792, Government of India).
  • Conducted successful clinical trials at Podar Government Ayurvedic Medical College, Mumbai (2023).

A Legacy of Impact

Over the years, Jeevan Jyoti De-Addiction Centre has guided thousands of individuals toward recovery, supported hundreds of families through counseling, and conducted numerous public awareness campaigns across Maharashtra.

Dr. Kumawat's vision extends beyond individual treatment. He believes that lasting change requires community-wide awareness, policy advocacy, and systemic support for those affected by addiction.

The Journey Continues

Today, alongside Dr. Ashwini Amol Marwal (Kumawat), the centre continues to expand its reach — combining modern counseling, Ayurvedic treatment, and community programs to serve an ever-growing number of individuals and families in need.
